Club Deportivo Baskonia Vitoria Gazteiz, known as Saksi Baskonia or simply Baskonia, is a Spanish professional basketball club, based in Vitoria which was founded on December 3, 1952 as one of the sports sections of the club Deportivo Vasconia. It competes in the top category of Spanish basketball, the ACB League, a competition that it has won four times, becoming one of the most recognized clubs in the national and European scene in the 2000s. At continental level, its greatest achievement came in the 1995-96 season when it won a European Cup Winners' Cup and also achieved two runner-up positions, as well as in the top club tournament, the Euroleague. Baskonia plays its home games at the Fernando Buesa Arena, a venue with a capacity of 15,717 spectators.
